Stikine View Lodge sits perched above the spectacular Stikine River Valley in northwestern British Columbia. The Lodge is located approximately 8 km out of Telegraph Creek and 120 km from Dease Lake. It is the perfect location to base yourself at when visiting this part of BC with its incredible wilderness scenery. We can help you with your vacation plans and offer many suggestions for things to do in the area depending upon your interests. Days can be spent exploring the historic town of Telegraph Creek, seeing the Grand Canyon of Stikine, hiking up Glenora Mt, fishing the lakes and rivers, flying out to explore the wilderness park of Mt Edziza, and boating down the pristine Stikine River. The area around the Lodge itself can also provide for a day or two of exploration. The lodge sits on the historic Glenora Trail. This trail was used during the Cassier Gold Rush days. Miners would take steamboats up the Stikine River to the abandoned town of Glenora (about 8km downriver from the Lodge) and then go over land on the trail to the Yukon and Cassier Gold Rush. The Lodge sits above the historic placer gold claim called Buck’s Bar named after Buck Choquett who discovered gold on the Stikine at this spot in 1862. His discovery sparked mining interest in the area and started the Cassier gold Rush. Many remains of mining activity are evident on the bar. There is also recreational gold panning to be done with color in almost every pan! The Lodge offers all the conveniences of home. It is outfitted with solar power, gravity feed water and propane. We have hot/cold running water, washer and dryer, refrigerator, lights, telephone,and internet access. We have 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. 1 bedroom has an attached bath while the other rooms have shared baths. There is a main living room downstairs for all guests to enjoy There are 2 kitchens in the lodge. The main kitchen downstairs is for catered meals and the smaller upstairs kitchen for guests that wish to do their own cooking. The Lodge also has the original homestead log cabin available for rent. The cabin comes with running water, propane lights, wood and propane cook stove, refrigerator shower and outhouse. It has 2 bedrooms with double beds, kitchen and living room and spectacular views of the valley and mountains. We are open from May 15th until October 1st.
